The Cross-Bay Ferry is surging in popularity in the Tampa Bay region. This splendid new transit option connecting downtown Tampa and downtown St. Pete reached a new milestone in its history the first week of April when it transported its 300,000th rider since the system’s launch in 2016.

The ferry is also on track to once again set a new single-season ridership record and surpass the 62,130 riders from its 2021-22 season, with 56,130 riders this season so far and weeks to spare before the end of the season, on May 28, according to a release. The 300,000-plus total riders and expected new single-season ridership record represent new highs in the growth of the ferry and another step in its evolution in becoming a permanent transportation option that provides a fast, fun, and affordable way to travel across the Tampa Bay area.
