A Second Home for LGBT

Metro Wellness is using an indiegogo campaign to repurpose a house in the Grand Central District into a “second home” for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth and visitors. The vision sees the building as a "Welcome Center" that will offer travel resources, package deals and insider tips to Tampa Bay tourists and residents. Additionally, an LGBT Coffee House will serve as a social epicenter to meet friends, conduct meetings and the like. So far, the campaign has raised over $6,000 toward their goal. Every dollar donated will be matched by a private donor. Check out their indiegogo page here for details and to make it happen. Or if you’re feeling extra generous this holiday season, donate enough to name a room and get recognized by thousands of LGBT residents and visitors of Tampa Bay by clicking here.

Paint and Sip to Open in the New Year

Pinot’s Palette, a “Paint and Sip” franchise, has announced that the Grand Opening day for their St. Petersburg location, 1572 Central Ave., will be January 11th. With the motto, “Paint. Drink. Have Fun.”, it isn’t hard to believe that Pinot’s Palette made Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top 500 New Franchises this year and has locations throughout the country. The idea is simple: pay for the class, bring your friends and wine, then paint with the gentle guidance of experienced painters. Check out this link for details about what is in store for St. Pete. The first class, "Japanese Moon", on January 11th is $45 and starts at 7pm.
