Nippy Iced Coffee joins the Foodie Labs

July 10, 2024: Nippy Iced Coffee will open along the Pinellas Trail as part of the Foodie Labs (515 22nd St S Suite 130). The official opening fun is set for July 18, 19, 20, and 21. They’re offering drinks for just “72.7 cents” to celebrate their official debut in the ‘Burg during that 4-day stretch.

Drinks include a vanilla draft oat milk cold brew latte and a strawberry draft oat milk matcha latte. Follow Nippy on Instagram for updates on official operational hours.

Tiki Bagel nears official opening on St. Pete Beach

July 10, 2024: Tiki Bagel will officially open in July on St. Pete Beach (455 75th Ave). They’ve added some new menu teasers:

  • Maui Zowie: Crafted on the bagel of your choice, topped with bacon sriracha jan, grilled pineapple and crispy prosciutto topped with a sweet and spicy drizzle.
  • Elvis Lives: Locally sourced Banana slices, peanut butter, honey and a dash of cinnamon. The KING lives! Blue Hawaii is a classic!
  • Zsa Zsa: Roasted turkey, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, with chipotle spread

Bagel varieties include cinnamon raisin, plain, garlic, asiago, pumpernickel, garlic, blueberry and sesame seed.

Rome-style pizza spot announced for Central Ave

July 10, 2024: Park Pie Pizza is the latest addition to Central Park Food Hall at 551 Central Avenue. Park Pie Pizza is inspired by the classic flavors and techniques of Rome, as well as the quintessential pizzerias of New York City, according to an Instagram post by Central Park Food Hall.

“Our pizzas are thin crust, personal-sized pies, and are crafted using only the highest quality artisan ingredients available.”

Green Light Cinema establishes nonprofit “to survive and flourish”

July 10, 2024: Greenlight Cinema, St. Pete’s indie arthouse theater, is a beloved spot for cinephiles and creatives in the community. It’s now seeking community support. The venue has screened 300+ films, including 60 Oscar winners since its opening.

“To help us survive and flourish, we’ve decided to restructure and have formed a non-profit association – The Friends of Green Light Cinema,” write Owners Mike and Sue Hazlett. “This will enable us to steady finances, invest in some structural/technical needs and have more resources for programming, staffing and planning.” Nothing will change in the day-to-day operations according to the owners. Green Light will continue to screen, a lot of times exclusively, the best arthouse films from all over the world.

July 10, 2024: Lace up and join the community for 727 Day, a downtown community run and walk. On July 27 (7.27), set your alarm & join St. Pete Running Co at 7:27am at Craft Kafe on 200 Central Ave.

51st Annual Sunrise Sale returns to downtown St. Pete

July 10, 2024: The annual Sunrise Sale is a don’t-miss event. It’s a blockbuster summer sale that’s worth getting up before dawn for! Shoppers are encouraged to wear their pajamas and those who do are often treated to extra discounts or small gifts. The event sees downtown filled at dawn with yellow flags, bright balloons and eager shoppers!

Def Burger returns to St. Pete at The Kenwood

June 28, 2024 – Def Burger is back in St. Pete and slinging good eats at The Kenwood, a new commuity bar located at 1721 28th St N. See the full menu online. Deaf Chef Anna Cerney has garnered praise from diners across the state for her modern twist on classic burgers and hot dogs.

Junior League’s big back to school Care Fair returns

June 28, 2024 – The Junior League’s annual Care Fair is back on July 27 at 8am at Johnnie Ruth Clark Health Center (1344 22nd St S). The goal of Care Fair has always been to prepare students K-12 with the necessary resources to start the school year ready for success. Over the last 27 years, Care Fair has provided more than an estimated 8,200 medical or dental exams, 31,300 backpacks with school supplies, distributed thousands of age-appropriate chapter books and dedicated countless volunteer hours to the children and families most in need of these resources.

The Crane coming soon to St. Pete

June 24, 2024 – The Crane, one of the most anticipated new restaurants on Central Avenue is nearing completion. The steak and seafood concept is being opened by the owners of Mangosteen and The Glass Noodle, and the interior is looking spectacular. Follow The Crane on social media for updates on an opening timeline.

The current setup includes multiple booths, a big central bar, and some outdoor seating along Central Avenue.

HaleLife Bakery will open a new gluten-free, vegan shop in St. Pete

June 24, 2024 – HaleLife Bakery, the beloved vegan and gluten-free bakery, and bistro, will open a new location in the former home of The Chelsea St. Pete at 2462 5th Ave S. The news was first reported by St. Pete Rising and later confirmed by HaleLife owner Laura McCutcheon. An opening timeline is still TBA. Follow the bakery on Instagram for updates.

HaleLife also operates a full bistro at 11270 4th St N. Here, guests can enjoy GF sandwiches, sensational donut holes, and more breakfast and lunch essentials. They also have a spacious pet-friendly patio, specialty coffee, and tea, plus beer, wine, and mocktails.
