Local favorites Frank Strunk III and Derek Donnelly will be among the participating artists turning longboards into canvases. Local Longboard Company, since its inception on the 600 Block of Central Ave., has become a vital part of St. Pete's skating community. They've carved out pieces for Eckerd College and USF St. Pete. The company continues to play a pivotal role in reawakening the Burg's skate scene.
The opening reception for their longboard gallery is Saturday, September 13, and begins at 6pm. Cycle Brewing will be in attendance providing riders, artists and spectators alike with brews. The friendly servers over at The Amsterdam will be on hand as well, serving two other varieties of beer for those with eclectic palates.

Fashion Week To Benefit The Enclave
Fashion week arrives in St. Pete. Once a year the best boutiques in St. Pete gather together to represent the substance and style that dresses the Burg.
The Festival Of The Arts begins on Monday, September 15, with the opening night party at Moscato's. The evening will include meet and greets with the models and designers participating in the week's activities.
On Wednesday, September 17, at The Raw Studio, attendees will experience a showcase of contradictions. The "Dis-Connected" exhibition invites attendees to absorb humanity through the eyes of Warehouse Artists.
The exhibits that will be on display during the week will challenge appreciators to contemplate their relationship with their friends, family and society. Participating artists compare the concepts of perfection, materialism, digital interaction and disconnection.
The week ends with a Runway Fashion Show at One Progress Plaza. Proceeds from the week will go towards completing the Warehouse Arts District Enclave.
You can purchase your tickets here. Events run from no charge to $35. For a complete list of events, visit St. Pete Arts and Fashion Week's official website.
