BellaBrava Adds 800 Square Feet
Not only did BellaBrava just win Creative Loafing’s Best Italian Restaurant (and Best Outdoor Dining) of the Bay 2013, but they are expanding. The New World Trattoria has moved into an additional 800 square-foot space immediately adjacent to their current location. This adds an additional 50 indoor and outdoor seats to the already 230 person capacity.
“The demand for the additional capacity is there and, on our busiest nights, seating times will be much quicker,” says Mike Harting, partner and operations manager of BellaBrava. This is good news for us, nothing gets in the way of our chicken parm!

DeLucia Italian Bakery Cafe Takes West Marine Spot Downtown

Remember when St. Peterburg was ranked "7th Worst for Food"? We got slammed in the bakery category for having the fewest bakeries per capita with one bakery for every 17,500 people. Hopefully that is about to change as the downtown West Marine moves out and DeLucia Italian Bakery Cafe comes in to 119 1st Avenue N. Even though the owners are originally from Italy, their focus is to make Italian products in the USA rather than import them from Italy and they plan to bring their over 60 years experience in the baking sector to bear. Using only natural sourdough yeast, sans preservatives and “improvers”, is core to what they do. And if this location is like their others, we’re all in for a treat. The Garden to Transition
Known as St. Pete’s "oldest restaurant," The Garden is soon to close its doors to make way for a new concept. While details are slim, word has a jerk-style chicken joint, tentatively known as "Calypso Chicken," is in the works. There is also talk of removing the outer cement and iron gate to open up the space for greater people watching enjoyment along Central Avenue’s party district. The Lobby bar will also close as part of the transition. The Garden Restaurant and The Lobby are located at 217 Central Ave.
Tryst Celebrates 2 Years!
Tryst Gastro Lounge celebrates its 2nd year anniversary this Thursday, October 3rd! To thank their valued patrons, they will be having an open bar and complimentary passed plates from 7-9pm in addition to other drink and food specials. What’s not to like?!
