Burg Bits: Main Street Boys on 4th Street, Pizza Box Impresses in the EDGE

Smith & Associates Real Estate

Main Street Boys

This spot flew under our radars for a bit. A small spot on the far end of 4th Street, Main Street Boys serves a variety of hearty sandwiches, empanadas, hot dogs and divine desserts. The quaint spot is take-out only. Their motto: "Too good to refuse." They're damn right about that.

Their homemade s'mores cheesecake (pictured below) is a revelation for those with a profound sweet tooth. The Salvatore sandwich (fried eggplant with marinara sauce) is the very definition of comfort food. While we've yet to sample their pork picadillo empanada, the reviews for it have been glowing and the photo equally enticing. The new spot has also joined FoodNow, so if you're less inclined to make the trek down 4th street but are craving some serious eats, Main Street Boys is never more than a few clicks away.

Pizza Box Delivers the Goods in the EDGE District

Many have already remarked that Pizza Box is one of the best spots for pizza in the Burg. With handmade wood-fired ovens, an epic mural on the back of their building, and a lot of love for the local community, they have been able to make a major splash in the already booming EDGE District.

Attention Gluten-free diners, their gluten-free crust (BoBs Red Mill gluten free dough) is phenomenal. Their June special, "Debbies Veggies Pizza," features fire roasted sweet corn, red peppers, cherry peppers and caramelized onions topped with a sriracha crema, culantro and quesa fresca. It's unique pie that will sting your senses in the best way possible.

For us, Saint Michael's Supreme wins out as a menu favorite. The pizza features fire roasted red peppers, pepperoni, mushrooms and carmelized onions over San Marzano sauce and covered in their blend of Italian cheeses. Visit Pizza Box today at 923 Central Avenue. Their hours are: Tuesday through Thursday – noon to 10pm; Friday – noon to 1am; Saturday – 5pm to 1am.
