The wonderous holiday known as Record Store day is upon us and the Burg is blooming with deals, On Saturday, April 19 the sidewalks will be filled with live music and rare B-Sides that’ll make your turntable needle spastic. Here are the places for audiophiles and adimant collectors to hit up and what they have going on:

Bananas Music
: The day starts at 9am for the largest record store in the U.S. Bananas is taking 15% off all used items in the store with free beer provided by Green Bench Brewing. Food trucks will be on hand to provide breakfast and lunch for customers and Luxury Mane, Orange Gravity and The Anderson Brothers will all be performing sets throughout the day. Planet Retro: The nostalgia shop of music and style will open its doors at 9am. 13 Bands and 5 DJ’s will be performing throughout the day to keep you entertained while you add a few classic vinyl trophies to your collection. Free local beer and food will be served all day. Planet Retro will also be giving away gift certificates, T-Shirts and other exclusive goodies. Planet Retro 2414 Central Ave.

Daddy Kool Records: Daddy Kool will open its doors at 8am on Saturday. On top of their in store deals, Daddy Kool will be seeting up outside for a giant sidewalk sale. PASSAFIRE will be performing a special acoustic set and signing. DJ’s will be spinning all day and on top of that Daddy Kool has partnered with tbt* Newspaper to host their free Ultimate Band List’s showcase at the Local 662. Daddy Kool Records 666 Central Ave.

Easter Gospel Brunch at Sylvia’s Queen of Soulfood

On Sunday, April 20, from 11:30am to 3:30pm, enjoy a fabulous Easter Brunch at 

Sylvia’s. The buffet will be upstairs in the Manhattan Casino and will feature the gospel choir Chosen, back by popular demand. The brunch will feature Easter staples like scrambeled eggs, ham, fish, chicken, waffles and all the other soul food fixings you’ve come to love. The buffet is $13.95. The full Sylvia’s menu will still be available to order from. No matter what you do save some room for their Peach Cobbler, you can thank us later. 
If you already have plans this weekend and don’t want to miss it, Gospel Brunch takes place every Sunday at Sylvia’s.

The original Sylvia’s opened in New York’s Harlmen village back in 1962 and brings the same soul food goodness to St. Pete! Sylvia’s Queen of Soulfood is located at 642 22nd St South in the Warehouse District.

Creative Placemaking with St. Pete Preservation

The 5 Arts Districts of St. Pete have moved into an undeniable renaissance that has engaged and affected a new generation of Burg citizens. This blossoming serves as a perfect model for Creative Placemaking which leverages the arts, culture and one’s creativity to serve the community at large through positive growth meant to enhance the quality of life in the city. Panelist include Elizabeth Brincklow, St. Pete’s Arts and IR manager, Jeff Schorr, owner of Craftsman House Gallery, and artists Carrie Jadus and Robert Stackhouse. The discussion will take place April 24 at the historic Softwater Laundry building, 515 22nd St S.

On Sunday, May 4, St. Pete Preservation will offer a Creative Placemaking bus tour of the Burg’s 5 Arts Districts, public art installations and some artist’s studios and galleries. The tour begins at 1pm and will depart from the Craftsman House Gallery 2955 Central Ave.
