The latest addition to the booming EDGE District is Italy Bottega. The concept has been in development for months, and is now ready to open its doors to the public! The owners made the official announcement on the market’s Facebook page.
This is the place on Central Avenue for authentic Italian food and wine. Grab and go provisions are available, in addition to cafe favorites and ample supplies for artisanal charcuterie boards. New plant-based restaurant emerges on Central Avenue
For those who love vegan eats, the ‘Burg has become a bit of a paradise. One of the original spots for gourmet plant-based bites, Leafy Greens, is switching things up in the Grand Central District.
It begins with a new name: Welcome to Awapuhi.
The concept is designed to entice avid vegetarians/vegans, and those not strictly adhering to a plant-based diet to to experience something new. The gourmet plant-based restaurant in the Grand Central District has teased its menu on social media.
Brunch items include vegan and gluten-free French Toast and Pancakes (count me in). Other items of note include lettuce wrap tacos with cashew hummus, walnut taco meat, grape tomatoes and red bell peppers on romaine leaves, and Avocado Toast on gluten-free sourdough toast with raw pine nut parmesan and fresh clover sprouts.
Awapuhi is a BYO Bottle concept, and if you’re craving a mimosa they have plenty of Natalie’s orange juice to pair with your champagne of choice.
The new restaurant is officially open and tentative hours are noon-3pm Monday through Friday, and 10:30am-3pm Saturday and Sunday.
