3 Daughters Brewing To Open Tasting Room

Once a city without any brewing companies to compete with Tampa, St. Pete is starting to catch on to the beer brewing craze with some highly anticipated brewing companies opening downtown.

Mike Harting, co-owner of BellaBrava, says the brewery named for his three daughters should be open before the year is out. In addition to brewing on site, they will have a tasting room for beer lovers to relax and enjoy a drink.

Want to sample some of what 3 Daughters Brewing has got cooking before they open their tasting room? They will be one of the breweries participating in the 97x Craft Beer Experience. They will feature their Dunkelweiss, Blonde Ale and Bourbon Barrel Aged Porter. The event is August 17 from 4-8pm at The Mahaffey Theater. Tickets are $20. 3 Daughters Brewing is located at 222 22nd St. S.

St. Pete Based Kahwa Coffee to Open First Drive Thru

Successful St. Pete-based Kahwa Coffee already has three locations in St. Petersburg and two in Tampa and is opening a third in Tampa this fall.

Unlike the other Kahwa coffee shops, this newest addition with have a drive-thru and will be the biggest location at 3,000 square feet. According to owner Raphael Perrier, there will be a large outdoor seating area as well. He says the goal is to be open by late October.

Kahwa offers specialty drinks, coffee by the pound, French pastries, organic cookies and muffins. The new location will be at 3928 Henderson Blvd in Tampa. 

Now, all you commuters have the option of just staying in your car while you wait for your espresso especially when you’re already late for work!

Second Saturday Shop Local Art Walk 

August is one of the toughest months for businesses in St. Pete so we need to support as many locally-owned, independent businesses as we can. This Second Saturday Art Walk created by Keep Saint Petersburg Local will be “Shop Local” themed and will feature a raffle with prizes like $100 to spend at any local business. Like every Second Saturday there will be a free trolley. Check out the event Facebook page for more information on what businesses are involved and where to get raffle tickets. The Shop Local Art Walk is this Saturday, August 10 from 5-9pm.
