One of St. Pete’s longest-loved destinations for beer aficionados is closing its doors. Brewers Tasting Room, located at 11270 4th Street North will have its final day of operation this Friday, May 26, the bar announced.

To commemorate the closing, BTR is hosting a closing party this Friday beginning at 7 pm and featuring all-you-can-drink beer for $20 as they work to move through the remaining inventory. All proceeds from the sales will go straight to the employees, and the taproom will also have food available from The Cheesesteak Company.

Open since 2013, BTR has spent the last decade serving up one of the area’s widest selections of local, regional, national and international craft beers. At any given time, they’ve had more than 100 different beers available between the 32 taps and 70+ bottles and cans.

In a facebook post, ownership cited rising costs as the driver behind the decision to close, expressing regret over the circumstances and appreciation for a decade of good times in the St. Petersburg community. The outpouring of support online showed a dedicated crew of regulars who cherished the bar and love the memories made.

From BTR: “Unfortunately with the cost of rent and other expenses increasing, BTR will be closing. We are forever grateful to all of our dedicated customers, employees, and our kitchen partners Cheesesteak Company. To say that BTR was just a bar is a massive understatement. We have built a family here in north St Petersburg and for that we are forever grateful. Because of this place, there’s been marriages, babies born, and lifetime friendships made. That being said the memories made here will live on forever and we thank all of you for being a part of this journey.”
