Becoming the ‘Burg is a new video series in collaboration with the St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership that showcases and highlights the lesser known portions of interesting St. Pete history.

The latest video focuses on the influencers of yesteryear here in the Sunshine City. From horseshoe and boxing tournaments, to the launch of the Shuffleboard Club and the mural boom, this video details how wild ideas fueled St. Petersburg’s economy, and made it a premier destination to visit.

The first video goes into detail about Central Avenue, which wasn’t always Central Avenue. Monica Kile tells all and shines a light on the stuff every St. Pete resident should know.

Whitney Fox of PSTA also shares insights into St. Petersburg’s car-free future.
