Beans & Barlour to set world record for “Most People Simultaneously Scooping Ice Cream”

Beans & Barlour to set world record for “Most People Simultaneously Scooping Ice Cream”

Beans & Barlour is St. Petersburg’s own personal Candy Land. It’s also grown into a savory sensation with the addition of tantalizing NY bagels, enchanting grits bowls, and a whole host of new menu offerings at its recently launched location at the historic snell arcade on Central Avenue. This weekend, Beans & Barlour wants to etch its name in the record books by having the most people simultaneously scooping ice cream at once.

The attempt will take place at Al Lang Stadium (home of the Tampa Bay Rowdies) on 7/18 at 11am and will be witnessed and certified in person by an official Guinness World Records adjudicator.

The current record is held by Dairy Queen China and was achieved in June of 2015 with a total of 270 participants.

Beans & Barlour and Brugal 1888 are inviting participants of all ages to be a part of this historic attempt. Admission is FREE but will require an advance ticket. All participants will receive a Brugal 1888 welcome cocktail, a Brugal 1888 infused boozy ice cream and a commemorative ice cream scoop. Non-alcoholic and dairy-free ice cream options will also be available.

Owner Story Stuart has assembled a sweet and savory dream team to bring the concept to glittering life. Opening inside the historic Snell Arcade on the 400 Block of Central Avenue is no small task. In addition to opening a brand new location with an expanded menu, Stuart and her team also operate the mobile bar at Al Lang Stadium during Rowdies Matches, and operate a space at Tropicana Field for our surging Rays

Beans & Barlour brought an in-house baker on board, so prepare your taste buds for boozy creme brûlée, giant cookies, and more confections.

As with their original location, vegan options are in abundance. The grits are made with avocado butter, so the southern staple is also vegan-friendly.
