The booming Edge District just announced the winning artist and concepts for the EDGE Gateway Marker Project. James Brenner’s winning concept for the markers will be made of Corten steel, layered green glass, stainless steel, and LED lighting. It is a representation of the district’s industrial heritage and our “edgy” character. Brenner will be creating 10 markers – two large ones for each end of the district on Central Avenue, and 8 smaller ones for the perimeters on 1st Aves N & S.
The contract is scheduled to go to City Council for approval in March with an estimate of a year for completion.
