Anchor Skate Supply, though not new to St. Pete, still feels like a hidden gem. Located in a cozy spot at 501 16th St S, near the corner of 16th St N and 5th Ave S, this mural-covered skate shop features a mini ramp outside and ranks among my top 5 favorite shops in St. Pete.
The shop offers high-quality decks, gear, and apparel from top skate brands. You’ll find something you love even if you’re not a skater. Personally, I’ve always been more of a spectator—never quite skilled or brave enough to skate—but I can easily spend hours watching skate footage. The shop regularly plays tapes from teams and skaters, and it’s the kind of content that’s hard to turn away from.

The mini ramp is a blast for local skaters
Side note: Anchor’s mini ramp is a blast. The 4-foot-tall, 16-foot-wide halfpipe is available for customers to skate on designated days and hours. To skate, you’ll need to sign a digital liability form and wear a helmet, among other requirements. For full details, check Anchor’s website.
