Aloha Ansley brings award-winning Hawaiian fusion to Largo

three tacos in a row

We’re ready to say aloha again and again to this new restaurant in Largo. Aloha Ansley Hawaiian Fusion officially opened last week at 1941 West Bay Drive, and the fast-casual concept has already garnered rave reviews.

The star of the show at Aloha Ansley is the “Best Poke in Tampa Bay” (an award the chef has now won five times), but the full menu showcases a deep catalog of Hawaiian-inspired dishes. From BBQ bowls and island-style tacos to the “Volcano Flow Salad” and “Blue Wave Nachos,” the tropical flavors offer something for every taste, including tons of gluten-free and vegan options. There’s even a kids menu for the little surfers.

The menu focuses on fresh ingredients, with an emphasis on fresh-caught fish, organic ingredients, and exceptional vegan options.

Chef Ansley Spencer, a Largo native, is the talent behind the Hawaiian concept. She originally opened Aloha Ansley to much fanfare in Largo in 2018 but moved the restaurant to Dunedin in 2022. Three years later, the up-and-coming chef is back in her hometown, much to the delight of the locals who had missed the poke bowls and Oahu sliders in her absence.

In the short time since opening in Largo last week, Aloha Ansley has earned exclusively five-star reviews, an excellent early indicator of the quality of food and service.

“We got the Aloha sampler and the word of the day is FRESH!” remarked one Local Guide on Google Maps over the weekend. “Packed with flavor and quality ingredients. So happy to have a healthy option right the corner with amazing staff.”

Savory Greek dishes

Other diners recommend the Maui Poke, a gluten-free option featuring raw tuna marinated in a house poké sauce served with tomatoes, mixed greens, pickled cucumbers, sliced avocado, citrus tempura crunch, sesame seeds, and coconut jasmine rice. As for us, we’re already eyeing the Moa Bowl: BBQ chicken, pineapple salsa, sliced avocado, BBQ sauce, and sesame seeds, served over coconut jasmine rice. We wouldn’t say no to a plate of the BBQ Tofu Nachos, either.

Aloha Ansley is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Follow them on Facebook and on Instagram to see the latest.
