Sylvia Rusche Continues Support of St. Pete Arts in Retirement

If you’re any sort of patron of the arts or have insurance in The Burg then you’ve probably seen the name Sylvia Rusche. Is it pronounced Rush? Ru-che? Actually, it’s Roo-Shay.

After nearly 34 years of weathering storms, fixing car dents and protecting homeowners, Sylvia is hanging up her hat on the insurance game. She plans to stay actively involved in the arts and culture scene of St. Pete, from Movies in the Park to freeFall Theatre to the Warehouse Arts District.

Having recently sold her State Farm practice, she’s not letting retirement slow down her love and patronage of the arts. In fact, she’s ramping it up with a new commitment to the local scene with expanded coverage on I Love the Burg from journalist and contributor Bill DeYoung.

“I’m at home in the arts as much as I am in St. Pete,” said Sylvia regarding her support of the new initiative. “It excites me to have this additional time and the resources to make a greater impact in supporting our community.”
