From Singapore to London, coffee shop raves are taking over the world’s biggest metropolitan cities, and now, a local DJ is bringing the globally-inspired experience to St. Pete. Raining Berries (1631 Central Avenue) is hosting “A Lovers Rave” on Saturday, February 15 from 11 am – 3pm, featuring music from DJ Shono.
Presented by Blue Water Mortgage, the Lover’s Rave will be a feast for all the senses, featuring original house music by Shono alongside the amazing array of eats and drinks at Raining Berries. And truly, if you haven’t yet tried out Raining Berries, you’ll want to add it to your list. In addition to great coffee and smoothies, they have an excellent menu of fresh-made sandwiches, bowls and more.
The “cafe rave” phenomenon first came onto the scene in Singapore, blending the cultures of EDM tunes and relaxed coffee shop vibes. The sensation then spread across the globe, becoming an underground staple in the UK, NYC, Los Angeles, and other big cities.
Shono discovered the cafe rave culture while studying in England, and believes the time is right to bring the experience to St. Pete, an internationally diverse and arts-driven city.
A Lover’s Rave is free to attend, and Raining Berries will be offering Valentine’s specials on food and drink, in addition to the usual menu. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP here, but anyone can stop in during the cafe rave and enjoy music, food, and some upbeat relaxation at one of the city’s newest cafes.
Singles and couples alike are invited, as existing couples can cozy up at a high top table, and singles can meet someone new at A Lover’s Rave. Learn more here.
