St. Pete’s newest restaurant is also home to some of its best traditional eats. The Glass Noodle is now open at 681 Central Avenue in the former Doormet location, as the pan-Asian restaurant soft opened last week and is now welcoming guests seven days a week for lunch and dinner.
Two things in particular make the new restaurant stand out: first, it serves up specialty dishes from 10 different countries, running the gamut from soups and starters to noodle dishes and rice plates. Second, nearly all of their noodles are made fresh in-house daily, ensuring the highest quality meal on every visit.

The Glass Noodle is being operated by the same group behind Mangosteen and Green Pagoda and that team is also opening the upcoming Crane seafood and steakhouse just down the block. In addition to the more than 40 dishes on the expansive menu, The Glass Noodle also has a wide range of drinks, including sake and sake cocktails, wine, local and imported beers, a variety of Asian teas and coffees, and even coconut water.
The menu itself is separated into five parts (noodle dishes, rice dishes, starters, protein plates, and noodle soups), with the country of origin listed on each item. We certainly recommend ordering a variety of plates and sharing with your group so that you can taste as much as possible. On our visit, we tried the Thai pad see ew, the Laotian five spice BBQ pork and rice, and the Korean red spicy noodles, as well as chicken spring rolls, spicy pork gyoza, and the glass papaya salad.
You can check out their full menu on Instagram, which features a fantastic list of hot and cold dishes showcasing specialty dishes originating everywhere from Japan, Vietnam and Singapore, to Cambodia, Korea and mainland China, with plenty more in between.
