It's summer in St. Pete which means plenty of rain, heat lightning, heavy humidity, power surges and other technical difficulties. Surviving August isn't a simple task which is why we collected a few Life Hacks to make living in St. Pete just a little bit easier.
Hang a damp towel in front of a stationary fan to produce a colder stream of air in a focused area. This method also works with a hunk of ice in a metal bowl.

Want a chilled glass of white wine for a hot St. Pete night? Freeze some grapes and put them in your wine glass to keep your drink cold without watering it down.

DIY Ice Cream Sandwich. Take a pint of any ice cream you desire. Slice it to a portion of the carton just below the lid. Remove the cut sliver and stick between two cookies. Nom nom.
If you stand outside even for a few seconds odds are you're going to get drenched. To avoid having those sweaty scents permeate your home, clothes and shoes use tea bags. Leave them in your shoes, your laundry hamper, garbage bin and gym bag to alleviate the smell.
If you're having a summer bbq and want your beers to cool faster wrap a wet paper towel around the bottle or can in the refrigerator.
