To quote Mark Twain, “Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.” Well, here in the Burg, we have too much sunshine, not actually a problem, and never enough whiskey, enter our 2nd Annual Winter Whiskeyfest. Of course, when we say winter in Florida what we mean is lows in the 70’s and, to us, that’s perfect whiskey weather.

Taking place this Saturday, January 19th from 6pm–9pm, the event will welcome revelers, 21+, to the La Florida Ballroom at Red Mesa Cantina where they’ll be able to create their own whiskey tasting adventure with selections from over two dozen brands made at different local and national distilleries, enjoy light bites, and mingle over chill music. Plus, guests will receive a keepsake commemorative whiskey tasting glass to help them remember the special evening. Tickets are only $75 if you get them in advance (we recommend it, this event sells out quick) or $85 at the door.

There’s something for every whiskey lover
Returning for the second year in a row, are local favorites American Freedom Distillery and Kozuba Distillery. American Freedom will be pouring their Horse Soldier Bourbon, the brand based off the Horse Soldiers/American Special Operations forces whose story was told in the film “12 Strong”, starring Chris Hemsworth. Also appearing, is Heaven’s Door, the collection of whiskeys co-created by the one and only Bob Dylan which we’re excited to taste! Need we say more?

I Love the Burg is partnering with Red Mesa Cantina to showcase their beautiful downtown venue and benefit a great community cause. A portion of the proceeds go to Metro Wellness & Community Centers to support their essential LGBTQ+, transgender, and youth programs.
