I Love the Burg celebrates 13 years of sharing St. Pete stories – plus GIVEAWAY

I Love the Burg celebrates 13 years of sharing St. Pete stories – plus GIVEAWAY

I Love the Burg team

I Love the Burg first launched in the spring of 2009. Nearly 13 years later our blog has grown into a comprehensive platform celebrating all that makes this city vibrant and good. As the city grows, so must ILTB. That’s why we are delighted to celebrate the brand relaunch for the site. Why the rebrand?

For starters, we just love design. The I Love the Burg team continues to rethink and reshape how this website operates. When the concept first began, I Love the Burg was mainly a Facebook page highlighting cool things and events we discovered in St. Pete. An amalgam of photography, art, and prompts helped cement ILTB as a hyperlocal zeitgeist for residents here in St. Pete. That very same commitment to serving as a key source for the best things to do in St. Pete is still there.

I Love the Burg is here for All Things Good

In addition to being a valued vessel for the top local events in the Sunshine City, I Love the Burg is a trusted news source here in the community. Yes, we love breaking stories on the latest restaurants, developments, and small businesses readying to cut the proverbial ribbon here in the Burg. But more than just a platform for all things new, we are a resource for all things good.

A rush of new series has elevated our offerings here in St. Pete. Our live history tours with the exceedingly brilliant Monica Kile shine a light on the lesser known aspects of local history. Recent tours have taken viewers to the overgrown horseshoe courts of Round Lake, the Indian Mound sitting at the center of the Pink Streets neighborhood, and the bits of history hiding in the now booming EDGE District. You can see a full table of contents of all of our live tours here

Sharing the story of St. Pete one video at a time

St. Petersburg is known as an open-air art gallery. Murals continue to pop up on large-scale walls across the main downtown area, and well outside of it. But who are the artists? Our Tampa Bay Born Murals series is one dedicated to showcasing and celebrating diversity in the arts community. Through this series, we hope to encourage a more inclusive local arts scene here in St. Pete. Nneka Jones, a now globally celebrated muralist and embroidery artist, was the first personality we featured in the series. See our latest mural videos here.

I Love the Burg is a storytelling platform. For more than a decade we’ve worked hard to find new, creative ways to tell the story of St. Pete. This of course includes comedy skits, memes, daily walk-and-talks in IG stories, and bringing everyone closer to how this site continues to operate today. That’s right, you can find us on Tik Tok.
