Inspired by St. Pete’s 100 Women Who Care, a new charitable group in the city is making waves for local non-profits. 100 Good Guys officially launched this month at Green Bench’s Webb’s City Cellar, as the upstart group aims to begin funneling tens of thousands of dollars per year to area non-profit organizations.
The idea behind 100 Good Guys is pretty straightforward: find 100 people in the St. Pete area to each donate $100, once per quarter, totaling $10,000 per quarter. And each quarter, the group meets a short list of candidates and votes on a local non-profit to donate those funds to. Non profits can submit their application for consideration here.

Founded by a crew of St. Pete area professionals, 100 Good Guys is currently sitting at 49 members, and is fresh off its first donation round. At a meeting in December, the men assembled and heard from three local non-profits, ultimately selecting Men In The Making as their winner. With $4,200 raised by members, Duke Energy made a matching donation, totaling $8,400 for the non-profit supporting young males in the St. Pete area.
100 Good Guys was founded and is now led by a team of four locals, including Joseph Papich from W3 Insurance, Jeff Baker from Duke Energy, Mark Sprague from St. Pete-Clearwater Airport and I Love the Burg co-founder Dexter Fabian.
Be one of the good guys
Membership for the group is open any time, and the next get-togethers are slated for February 20 and May 14 in 2024. The pitch nights will be held at Bayboro Brewing at 2390 5th Ave. S in anticipation of a bigger turnout.
Those interested in becoming one of the 100 Good Guys can learn more and join here. “Our giving circle is welcoming and open to guys interested in doing some good,” the group says.
“It’s a more accessible way to introduce people to the concept of philanthropy and making an impact within the city they love,” Fabian adds.
In addition to winning non-profit Men In The Making, 100 Good Guys also heard from the Shirley Proctor Puller Foundation, and the Veterans Art Center Tampa Bay. Men In The Making is a key contributor to the future success of today’s youth, a “progressive initiative focusing on role modeling and life skills to increase minority male success from cradle to college.”
