A spot for Maryland jumbo crab cakes is set to open December 9 on the far end of Central Avenue. Blake’s Crab Cakes — 7224 Central Avenue — promises to bring Northern flare to the Sunshine City.

The restaurant’s small menu is flush with bold flavor. Dishes of note include: The José, pork cutlet topped with a fried egg and bacon with sriracha mayo; Fried Lobster; Shrimp Creole; Mom’s Shrimp Salad; and Blake’s Cakes, Maryland style jumbo blue crab meat with a hint of old bay.
Fresh cut fries, macaroni with baby shrimp, Grandma’s slaw, crab balls and Blake’s shrimp are offered as sides.
