The Burg’s burgeoning downtown scene has become synonymous with craft cocktails. The 200 Block is currently flush with artisanal spirits and, now, the EDGE District is as well. Intermezzo, which began as a pop-up coffee shop at 1111 Central Avenue, will make the location its permanent home. By day, it’s a coffee shop. By night, it’s a craft cocktail haven — with the alternate name Eleven Eleven.

The menu features your baseline cocktail musts — old fashioned, pimm’s cup, side car, Manhattan, daiquiri — along with savory additions like the bourbon lift — bourbon, cream, coffee liqueur. The concept is currently in its soft opening stages. The space begins serving cocktails after 5pm and remains open until a little after midnight. The drink menu also includes beer from 81Bay, Green Flash, Angry Chair, Boulevard, Coppertail, Saugatuck and Weyerbacher. Wine aficionados can enjoy a selection of eight different wines ranging from Blanc de Blanc and Rosé to Pinot Noir.  Currently, they’re experimenting with a few new concepts to add to the menu. Those specialty cocktails should appear on the menu within the next several weeks.
