The Homemade Broadcast: Bananas Music Celebrates 10th Record Store Day

The Homemade Broadcast: Bananas Music Celebrates 10th Record Store Day

Started in 2007 on the heels of the success of “Free Comic Book Day”, Record Store Day is celebrated by music lovers across the United States and now the world.  Now in it’s 10th year, hardcore vinyl collectors and music fans alike gather in dank record stores across the country as each participating store throws their own party in celebration of the day.  Arguably, one of the best on the country will take place right here in the bay area at Banana’s, who Rolling Stone magazine picked as one of the Top 30 Record Stores in the US.

The day kicks off at 9am with DJ Kalani Amicizia Blakely and the music continues throughout the day with local favorites The Vultures, Reality Asylum, Zerobabies, Jackrabbit and Row Jomah. Free beer from Coppertail and Bill Kiefel while supplies last for 21+ patrons, raffles and giveaways, Kahwa coffee and Empamama’s Food Truck will be serving up some homegrown goodness.  The event is free and all ages are welcome.  For more info, check out The Homemade Broadcast with Jen & Gen talking the RSD ’17 and visit the Banana’s Music Record Store Day 2017 Facebook page.
