It’s no secret that the ‘Burg was made for those curious taste buds and desirous palates. USA Today made a top 10 list that highlights the cream of the crop in the Bay area.  

Rounding out the list at number 10 is the iconic and ingrained Taco Bus. The concept began in a "refurbished" school bus reminiscent of a shelter described in Into The Wild. Taco Bus now has chains all over the Tampa Bay area not including the ever roaming buses driven by the desire to satiate those late night munchies and midday fish taco withdrawal.  You can show up for a quick grilled chicken wrap on the go or stick around with a bowl of fresh chips doused in queso, guac and house made salsa. Taco Bus is located at 2324 Central Ave.

Taco Bus ain’t alone. St. Pete’s newest fine dining institution, Rococo Steak measures in at number 8. The eccentric and baroque decorations that color the steakhouse and brewpub underscore the unique, farm fresh dishes this former funeral home turned YWCA turned restaurant has to offer. From refreshing and inspired watermelon salad with light touches of salt to Pacific Oysters to a bone-in ribeye weighing in at 22 ounces for the more carnivorous customer, Rococo redefines divine. Rococo Steak is located at 655 2nd Ave. S.

Our Beach Drive beauty, BellaBrava finished at number 6 on the list. "The menu is to drool for," writes USA Today. That is still somehow an understatement. Their heavenly tomato bisque is the perfect complement for their wood fired pizza’s covered generously in meatballs that would make your grandma blush. Each pizza is balanced with the perfect economy of cheese and topping. With unmatched wine pairings, gluten-free and vegan-friendly offerings and a truffle lobster mac-n-cheese that is beyond compare this new world trattoria has certainly earned this acclaim. BellaBrava is located at 204 Beach Drive NE.

At the top of the St. Pete ladder coming in at number 3 is Z Grille.  Z Grille has developed a menu that keeps the restaurant crowded, loud and wild with the incendiary spirit of downtown. USA Today highlights their deviled eggs filled with avocado, bacon bits and hot sauce and Dr. Pepper fried ribs. Z Grille is located at 104 2nd St. S.

"Not all those who wander are lost," and in St. Pete confused, dynamic and shuffling feet will only lead you to another culinary eden.  So chow down ‘Burgers because every meal here is a feast worth celebrating.
