BellaBrava to Add More Space to the Restaurant We All Know and Love
Many ‘Burgers love BellaBrava and it shows with their consistently packed restaurant any day of the week. As a result, the Beach Drive restaurant that has been a fixture in the ‘Burg since 2005 announced recently that they are growing in size, adding 800 square feet of space. They’re taking over the shop next door, formerly Salon LaRu, which is moving closer to The Shops at St. Pete.
The new space will allow the restaurant to seat 50 more guests inside and outside, in addition to their current max capacity at 230. Regular guests at the trattoria are familiar with the wait for a table on busy Friday and Saturday nights. Co-owner Mike Harting hopes that the additional space will allow them to seat guests more quickly, according to the Tampa Bay Times. The addition of 15 new staff members to the current 90 will ensure the addition of new space doesn’t compromise the quality of service.
BellaBrava is located at 204 Beach Dr. NE. and is open Monday-Thursday 11:30am-10pm, Friday and Saturday until 11pm and Sunday until 9pm. Happy Hour is everyday from open to 7pm. $1.50 Bud Light drafts, $2.50 well drinks and $4 glasses of house wine and homemade sangria.
The Studio@620 Receives Art Grant for Project
The Studio@620 has received the Doris Duke Building Demand for the Arts grant to fund their $80,000, 18-month project starting this summer. The Studio has received one of ten grants available nationwide, a very prestigious honor. It was the only non-profit in Florida to be selected.
The project will feature vocalist/actor/writer Sharon E. Scott and a multi-disciplinary artist accelerator featuring jazz, contemporary dance, and/or theater work developed by Generation Y or Millennial artists. Sharon will coordinate the initiative and serve as mentor to these Generation Y artists helping them to conceptualize their works. Beyond coordinating the project and mentoring artists, she will work on her own project that will cross-pollinate with the artists’ works, encouraging a larger collective with room for influencing each other’s work.
