July 27 is always one of the hottest days of the year, both literally and metaphorically, as locals celebrate 727 Day. This year, it’s getting even better, as downtown’s The Galley is hosting “a celebration of St. Pete locals” for 727 Day, this Thursday.
Of course, the doldrums of summer are when the waves of tourists slow down and the snowbirds have migrated back north, so it’s appropriate that the calendar date for St. Pete’s area code falls in late July. It’s the time of year when the Burg is as local as it gets, at least based on permanent residency.
