600 Block Staple Moves to 9th Street

600 Block Staple Moves to 9th Street

Star Booty Salon has styled the Burg's 600 block for years. The spot offering rock n' roll haircuts, awesome band t-shirts, pop culture magnets, guitars and every other type of goodie for true audiophiles will move from its home on the flourishing strip of Central Avenue to its new home at 242 9th Street North. More than just a hair salon, Star Booty frequently partnered with local designers and entrepreneurs to offer a unique experience. In the past, visitors could shop items from St. Pete Indie Market founder Ramblin' Rose, and House of Merch.

The salon most recently parntered with 'Guitars on Central,' where you could buy/sell/trade/consign guitars. Owners Rick Benegbi and Stevie B hope to find a home on the 9th Street North, as well. It's hard to imagine the 600 block without the Star Booty edge. Owners Mimi Reilly and Cassandra Bradshaw have styled the hair of some of the area's finest punk/grunge/indie performers. Whether you wanted a classic 50s style cut, a mohawk, to dye your hair every color of the rainbow, or were looking for vintage surfer cut, Mimi, Cassandra and the other members of Star Booty made sure you left loving the way you looked. In doing so, Star Booty was a haven for those looking to express themselves. While they'll no longer be bringing the punk energy to that area of Central Avenue, their mark and influence on it will remain. We consider this business to be an integral part in the expansion and rise of the 600 Block (i.e. Strands of Sunshine, Central Melt, Local Longboards, Urban Creamery, Cider Press, The Lure).

Star Booty officially closed its doors on September 12 and is set to reopen at their new location on October 4. You can call 727.895.7827 to book an appointment.
